Dr Aaron Frost

Clinical Psychologist

Provider Number 2818132L

Aaron is a Clinical Psychologist and Director of Benchmark Psychology.  For the past 6 years Aaron has been collecting data on his effectiveness as a therapist in order to improve his own performance.  The improvements he has been able to measure inspired him to start Benchmark Psychology as an outcomes based practice where evidence based therapies are delivered to clients, and where psychologists can be actively involved in measuring and improving their performance.  This clinic has developed systems to not only ensure quality assurance, but to help each individual clinician strive to improve.

Aaron remains actively involved in research and is currently a trustee of the Queensland Schizophrenia Research Foundation (Clear Thinking) and is a Senior Research Fellow at Griffith University.  Aaron is an accredited supervisor and has trained over 500 psychologists in the practice of professional and peer supervision.

Aaron is also a sought after speaker and also runs training workshops on topics including parenting, personality disorders, and schizophrenia. His series of lectures on psychological disorders earned him the ‘Lecturer of the Year’ award in 2007 at Griffith University, and his post-workshop evaluations are consistently of the highest order.

Dr Kiera Buchanan

Clinical and Health Psychologist

Provider Number 4575705T

Kiera has experience with adolescents, adults, and families across a range of settings including private practice, hospitals, and mental health services. While Kiera’s primary theoretical framework is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), she also utilises Schema-Focused therapy, Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) where appropriate. She also has a particular interest in long term approaches to weight management.  Kiera’s doctoral research was on factors implicated in “diet failure” and she believes that the reason that 95% of dieters fail in their goals is the psychological and social factors that so few programs address.  Kiera works with clients to address these issues, making it easier for them to stick to their weight-loss plans and thereby being more successful in their weight-loss or maintenance goals.
